Pre-Primary

Tiny Tot Creative

Pre-ballet for 3 and under is a 30-minute dance class for our tiniest ballet dancers. This class includes simple stretches and dance instruction as well as dance games and free dance. It encourages listening and following directions, coordination, and creativity. There is no dress code for this class, but dance attire is encouraged.

Pre-Ballet For 3 and Under

Pre-ballet for 3 and under is a 30-minute dance class for our tiniest ballet dancers. This class includes simple stretches and dance instruction as well as dance games and free dance. It encourages listening and following directions, coordination, and creativity. There is no dress code for this class, but dance attire is encouraged.

Pre-Ballet

Pre-ballet is a play-based introduction to ballet basics for ages 3-5 years old. We teach a combination of ballet steps and dance games to increase body awareness, coordination, musicality, and simple vocabulary. Dance attire and ballet shoes are strongly encouraged. Classes are 50 minutes long with a short water break.

Primary

Ballet 1

Ballet 1 is absolute beginner ballet for ages 5-7. We teach a very basic ballet barre, ballet center, and across the floor exercises. We use dance games in between technical instruction to keep it light and fun. Ballet 1 is designed to start laying the foundation of ballet. Classes are designed to increase body awareness, coordination, musicality, and flexibility. Dance attire and ballet shoes are required. Hair should be secured away from face to help facilitate learning to spot turns. Class is 1 hour long with a short water break.

Ballet 1.5

Ballet 1.5 is a beginner ballet class for ages 8-12 This is a faster paced beginning ballet class designed to help dancers learn the basics quickly. Dancers learn ballet fundamentals and vocabulary to help lay a solid foundation of technique. Classes include ballet barre and center technique, safe stretching, and simple across the floor combinations. Dance attire and ballet shoes are required. Hair in ballet bun or equivalent is required.

Ballet 2

Ballet 2 is beginner ballet class that continues to lay foundation of technique for approximate ages of 7-10. We teach a basic ballet barre, ballet center, and across the floor exercises. Dancers will continue to grow their ballet vocabulary and begin to find proper body alignment, coordination, musicality, and flexibility. Ballet attire and ballet shoes are required. Ballet bun or equivalent is required. Class in 1.25 hours with a short water break. One year of ballet 1 or equivalent is required before taking ballet 2.

Intermediate

Ballet 3

(PLACEMENT CLASS OR 2 YEARS OF BALLET 2 REQUIRED)

Ballet 3 is intermediate level ballet class for approximate ages of 9-12. There is a strong focus on understanding and completing combinations both at the barre and in the center. Dancers are working on good placement and stability, as well as memorization, musicality, and artistry of movement. There is also an emphasis on building and retaining ballet vocabulary. Dance attire and ballet shoes are required. Ballet bun or equivalent is required. Ballet 3 is 1.5 hours long and 2 classes weekly is required for all dancers in ballet. Dancers are also encouraged to take classes in both jazz and modern in addition to ballet.

Ballet 4

(PLACEMENT CLASS OR 2 YEARS OF BALLET 3 REQUIRED)

Ballet 4 is an intermediate level ballet class that begins to work stamina and strength on high demi-pointe, and precision in the execution of multiple steps. Dancers begin to incorporate simple port de bras and epaulement at barre and in center. Classes also focus on pirouette preparation and placement for single and double pirouettes, short and quick petit allegro, and coordination of multiple steps across the floor. Dance attire and ballet shoes are required. Ballet bun or equivalent is required. Ballet 4 classes are 1.5 hours long and dancers are required to take 2 classes weekly. 3 classes weekly and taking classes in both jazz and modern in addition to ballet is strongly encouraged.

Advanced

Ballet 5

(PLACEMENT CLASS OR 2 YEARS OF BALLET 4 REQUIRED)

Ballet 5 is the first level of advanced ballet. Classes are designed to challenge the dancers with change of body direction, building extension of the leg, fast allegro work, and intricate center combinations. There is also a strong focus on musicality, flow of movements, clean and fast foot work, clean preparations for turns in all positions, quickness in learning and remembering details. Ballet 5 starts preparing dancers to learn corps de ballet work and classical variations. Dancers are encouraged to audition for the Park Hill Dance Youth Company. Dance attire and ballet shoes are required. Ballet bun or equivalent is required. Dancers are required to take 3 classes weekly. Dancer are required to take either modern or jazz in addition to ballet classes.

Ballet 6

(PLACEMENT CLASS OR 2 YEARS OF BALLET 5 REQUIRED)

Ballet 6 is the second level of advanced ballet. There is a strong push for artistry, and technical execution. Ballet 6 is designed to prepare dancers to go on to dance in a professional training program (like a regional ballet company), dance in a university ballet program, and prepare them to audition for a professional dance company. Dancers should have a strong technical foundation and are working on their flourish. Dancers are encouraged to audition for the Park Hill Dance Youth Company. Dance attire and ballet shoes are required. Ballet bun or equivalent is required. Dancers are required to take 3 classes weekly. Dancer are required to take either modern or jazz in addition to ballet classes.

Adult Ballet and Barre

Our adult ballet and adult ballet barre classes are great weekly classes for adults who have some previous ballet training and are looking to brush up on their technique. They are beginner/intermediate level classes dedicated to classical ballet technique. It is classical instructions without the intensity. Class moves at a comfortable pace. Athletic or dance attire and ballet shoes are strongly encouraged.
